Andrew Chen

Andrew was born and raised in New South Wales Australia and is of Chinese descent. He has experience living and interacting with all walks of life.
Andrew completed his Bachelor of Psychology in 2019 and went on to achieve his Master of Counselling in 2022.
He has worked across a wide range of settings, including the NDIS, Employee Assistance Programs (EAP), domestic violence support, drug and alcohol services, and within the criminal justice system. Andrew has supported individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, grief and loss, trauma, ASD, ADHD, Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia, and many other mental health challenges.
Andrew’s therapeutic style is client-centred and trauma-informed. He draws from an integrative range of approaches including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), Narrative Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), as well as psychodynamic and psychoanalytic frameworks.
He has experience working with clients across the lifespan, from young children through to older adults. Andrew has a particular interest in supporting people living with depression, anxiety, and ADHD.
Outside of counselling, Andrew enjoys reading, running, bouldering, playing video games, watching movies & TV shows, walking his dog, and exploring anything related to psychology.
